History
From old Tinn municipality didn’t have any roads. It was
steep mountains on all sides. The only way out was the dangerous searoute over
Lake Tinnsjø or with horse and carriage over the mountains.
As the roads became better over the years, so grew also the need for public
transportation of people and goods. This became more important as the new city
Rjukan grew larger as a result of the industrialisation.
Creative people with a lot of courage started therefore up public
transportation. The companies that was founded in this period was in 1936
merged into one company, Tinn Billag AS.
